The grade of Honorary Member is a significant honor bestowed by IEEE and is awarded for life to an individual. It was established through the Bylaws of the IEEE. Honorary Members are elected by the Board of Directors from among those who have rendered meritorious service to humanity in the IEEE's designated fields of interest and who are not. Student and retired members are not listed in the Sourcebook. The list for the printed edition is pulled on April 15 of each year. If you are not a member by this date, your printed listing will not appear until the following year. Students may take the RPR or CRC exam, and will automatically be converted to registered member status once certified.
